Little Red Riding Hood had a big night on Monday ? with her wolf.

Amanda Seyfried, star of the film reinvention of the Brothers Grimm classic, cozied up to on-again beau Ryan Phillippe at the after party for the film's Los Angeles premiere.

"They were so sweet," one onlooker tells PEOPLE of the couple, who met in October at Kate Hudson's Halloween bash ?. "She was smiling ear-to-ear."

Phillippe, 36, kept it casual in jeans and a baseball cap when he arrived solo to the party. He was escorted to Seyfried's table, where he waited for his Red Riding Hood leading lady, 25, to arrive.

And although Seyfried played coy about their relationship in a recent interview with Elle magazine, only confirming that she's been "seen" with him, she didn't hide her feelings for Phillippe at the party.

"He gave her a hug, and she sat next to him," the onlooker says. "He rubbed her back and shoulder, and she had her hand on his knee."

Also canoodling at the bash, hosted by Ultimat Vodka: Eva Longoria and beau Eduardo Cruz, Diane Lane and husband Josh Brolin, and Lance Bass and his boyfriend.
