Miley Cyrus revealed she is against presidential hopeful Rick Santorum's views on gay marriage.Miley Cyrus will be old enough to vote in her first election in November 2012, but one potential candidate shouldn't plan on getting her endorsement.
The 18-year-old called out Republican Rick Santorum on Twitter Thursday for his anti-gay marriage stance.
"'IF WE ALLOW GAY MARRIAGE NEXT THING U KNOW PEOPLE WILL BE MARRYING GOLD FISH' - Rick Santorum," Cyrus wrote mockingly.
It's possible the starlet was alluding to a 2003 interview Santorum gave, where he insisted his views were less a statement about homosexuality and more about the sanctity of man-woman marriage.
"It's not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be," he told the Associated Press. "It is one thing."
Cyrus' outcry, however, seemed to be sparked by a new controversy surrounding Urban Outfitters, which was accused Wednesday of ripping off an independent jewelry maker's necklace designs.
"Love that everybody is hating on Urban Outfitters," Cyrus tweeted before claiming the clothing and accessories company "contributed $13,000 to [Santorum's] campaign."
"Not only do they steal from artists," she wrote, "but every time you give them money you help finance a campaign against gay equality. #SHADYASHELL"
