Dame Elizabeth Taylor's Hollywood Walk of Fame star has become a shrine following her death.

Fans have covered the tile with floral tributes to her after she passed away from symptoms of congestive heart failure at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center yesterday (23.03.11) aged 79.

One mourner even matched his bouquet to the colour of her "unique" eyes.

The unnamed man said: "We asked the florist to select flowers that would commemorate the colour of her eyes. We all know her eyes were a unique violet colour."

Another tearful member of the public admitted she went along to say goodbye to her idol.

She said: "I felt like if I came here I would say my goodbyes. I've always admired her."

In addition to the flowers, fans also placed cards and classic photos of the Taylor in honour of her.

Sabrina Lamour, who was one of the first to visit the star, said: "I have her films. I collect her films. She's like one of my favourites. I had to be here."

Celebrity tributes have flooded in since her death, with friends and other actors noting her successes in both Hollywood and with her charity work.

Talk show legend Larry King - who interviewed Taylor on several occasions - has described her as an "extraordinary" woman and actress who'd had a comparable life to Frank Sinatra.

Appearing on CNN's 'Piers Morgan Tonight', he said: "She was extraordinary in so many ways. If you'd look at her life, she was a great child star. A great screen actress despite her beauty. Sometimes people are so beautiful that people overlook how talented they are. She was an extraordinary actress. She changed her faith. She became Jewish. She had one of the largest break-ups in movie history. She broke up a marriage - Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher. Married Richard Burton twice. She was so giving and when she supported you, you had no better friend. There's a lot of comparisons to Sinatra and her, both icons, both said whatever they thought, didn't care what the press thought about them, when they stood up for you they stood up for you."
