Jacob Lask was busted for riding a Los Angeles metro train without buying a ticket in 2009.LOS ANGELES - "American Idol" finalist Jacob Lusk has a real judge to thank for his appearance on season 10 of TV's top-rated talent contest.
Turns out the angelic-voiced singer was pulled over in Compton, Calif., for a traffic violation Nov. 4 and tossed in jail on an outstanding warrant the same week he snagged his "golden ticket" to appear on the Fox mega-hit, sources said.
Cops originally busted Lusk on Feb. 24, 2009 for riding a Los Angeles metro train without buying a ticket, and a judge issued the warrant when he blew off the court appearance.
Lusk, 23, pleaded no contest to the train-hopping charge and got three days in jail and two years probation.

That's when Lusk then threw himself on the mercy of the court, pleading with the judge to ditch the probation saying it would force "Idol" to give him the boot, according to TMZ.com.
The judge was apparently swayed. His probation was terminated Nov 16.
"I've been through a whole lot more than folks would know in this lifetime," Lusk said on Twitter Friday morning. "BUT GOD has KEPT ME?and I am so thankful! Be blessed."
According to TMZ, Lusk sang to his 170 fellow inmates while in lockup and belted out a farewell tune on his last day that a guard on the loudspeaker called "bad a--!"
