Man allegedly robs Chase bank in San Juan Capistrano

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO - A man entered a San Juan Capistrano Chase bank, gave a note for the teller reading "bank robbery" and fled with an undisclosed amount of money, sheriff's officials said today.

The robbery happened at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 3100 block of Camino Capistrano, Orange County sheriff's Lt. Gary Strachan said.

The suspect demanded cash without a displayed weapon and no one was injured, Strachan said.

He fled on foot in an unknown direction and was described as a man in his 40s or 50s, 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 170 to 180 pounds. He was wearing a black button up work shirt, black pants and a black baseball hat.
