Matt Lauer staying put at 'Today'
As Meredith Vieira confirmed plans to step down from NBC's Today show on June 8, co-anchor Matt Lauer says he isn't going anywhere.
During a press conference today, Lauer confirmed that Katie Couric approached him about joining her planned daytime talk show, expected late next year.
"We certainly spoke about the possibility," he revealed. "But it turned into just talk, and that's where we left it. It's not going to happen." Although Lauer wouldn't discuss terms of his contract, it's believed to extend through December 2012.
