Claire Danes doesn't look down on people who have plastic surgery ? in fact, she's open to having some when and if she needs it.

"I'm really fortunate in that I'm still quite young, and can get away with a lot, and my body is very forgiving," the 32-year-old actress told StyleList. "We'll see how things progress."

Danes, who is a spokesperson for the prescription eyelash-growing serum Latisse, says that if the technology is there, why not go for it?

"I think it's great that women have so much choice now, and choice in products that are backed by science," she said. "As long as people are aware of potential risks, and they're working closely with a doctor, I say go for it."

But according to Danes, Latisse-grown eyelashes may be too much of a good thing.

"My makeup artist, Matin, sometimes even has to trim them a bit," she said.

Besides revealing her favorite beauty brands ? Cetaphil and Laura Mercier ? she also revealed something about her roots.

"I have no idea what my real color is," Danes said. "I look at my brother and say, 'Oh, that's what I would look like.' I identify my current blond as my 'base color,' so I return to it when I literally have to wash a character out of my hair."

Her next role? Playing a CIA officer for a television pilot called "Homeland."
